Trinity Guardrail Testing Continues

Testing of the controversial Trinity guardrail system continues in San Antonio, Texas.

On Thursday, January 15, 2015, the fifth of eight scheduled crash tests was completed. The Federal Highway Administration requested the series of tests after reports that the ET-Plus guardrail system was faulty, thus leading to injuries in the event of a collision.

During the most recent test at the Southwest Research Institute, a pickup truck, traveling at 62 miles per hour, was crashed into a potentially faulty guardrail. While the results were not immediately available, it is safe to say that when all eight tests are complete more information will be released.

The sixth test is scheduled for Friday, January 16, 2015.

Trinity believes its guardrail system is 100 percent safe, while others are not as sure. The Federal Highway Administration has stepped in to answer this question once and for all. However, until the remainder of the tests are complete, the waiting game continues.
