Dangerous Guardrails Create Risk of Amputation & Death

Guardrail Injury Lawyer

The guardrail known as ET-Plus, manufactured by Trinity Industries, has recently come under fire after investigations have shown that the end terminals of the guardrails have been failing. Guardrails should absorb the speed from a collision and peel away as cars slam into them. Instead, the ET-Plus has been known to spear the cabin of cars and even amputate or kill crash victims.

In 2005, Trinity allegedly redesigned the product, without sufficient safety testing and without informing local and federal authorities of the change.  In the redesign, a metal component of the guardrail was reduced from five to four inches – a measure designed to save Trinity money.  This one inch change, however, meant a higher risk of injury and death for those involved in guardrail crashes.
